Dr. Dona Bachman came to SIUC in 2002 as Director of the University Museum and the Museum Studies Program. Her Ph.D. is from Northern Illinois University. She serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of History.

Dr. Pamela Smoot received her Ph.D. from Michigan State University and came to SIUC the next year. She is cross-appointed in Black American Studies and History. Dr. Smoot specializes in African-American history and archival administration. Her current research focuses on "Black Pittsburgh: The Depths of a Secret City, 1830-1945."
